GOGIRLSMUSICFEST RETURNS TO NYC BENEFITING THE RED THREAD MOVEMENT

NEW YORK – GoGirlsMusicFest comes to Otto’s Shrunken Head on Thursday, December 1, starting at 7pm. A suggested donation of $5 will be asked at the door. The first 100 people to donate will receive a FREE GoGirlsMusicFest ’11 CD.

This year’s GoGirlsMusicFest will benefit The Red Thread Movement, a student initiative to abolish sexual slavery in Nepal. 100% of the proceeds from donations and Red Thread bracelet sales will go towards the cause. Concerts and fundraisers have already happened in Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, and internationally, in Tokyo.

The evening will feature indie artists ReW, Lachi & Meridian Gold, Inky Glass, Melissa Clark, Luciar, Rachel Lee Walsh, and Tiik, from the Philly-based band, G.U.T.S.

Otto’s Shrunken Head is in the East Village at 538 E. 14th St., New York, 10009.

About The Red Thread Movement:
The Red Thread Movement is an initiative that unites voices against the human rights violation of sex trafficking. The signature Red Thread bracelet, which is handmade by an at-risk or rescued girl in Nepal, is a symbol of awareness that helps fund the continuous efforts to rehabilitate victims and eliminate trafficking. Red Thread Music recruits an array of talented musicians to use their voices to get audiences involved in the fight. It encourages people to break the silence by telling others about this injustice and wear freedom to show that they choose to take a stand against sexual slavery. We wear their freedom on our arms! http://www.redthreadmovement.org
