NEW SONG: “Love and Chocolate” IGNITION LAB WEEK #41 & #42

The Ignition Lab is a group songwriting challenge to write a song a week  in 2013, using weekly word prompts as a starting point. Follow our work on Facebook: facebook.com/TheIgnitionLab

Weeks #41 and #42 had another combination, because that was the best I could do. But I was doing! Week #41 PROMPTS Vanilla, Chocolate or Strawberry / and #42, ILLICIT. It only made sense to combine these particular words, I mean “forbidden chocolate!” Could you imagine? Well, I tried to, and it sounds like a drunkin’ fun time, actually. There’s a kazoo solo here. It’s totally silly, goofy and you have to imagine a drunkin’ marching band playing along. And…go!

Love & Chocolate

If chocolate were forbidden
I’d run a secret mill
I’d gather up cocoa nibs
from around the world

Folks will come from far off lands
And gather for this playful dance
Lick their fingers when they’re done
And count their blessings one by one

Because love and chocolate
Share a common space in my heart
Because with love and chocolate
Life can be so sweet from the start

If you find a nice red wine
To pair your chocolate it’s divine
These tastes will swim in harmony
Your mouth will sing a symphony
