New Song: “Lazy Days” Ignition Lab Week #35

The Ignition Lab is a group songwriting challenge to write a song a week  in 2013, using weekly word prompts as a starting point. Follow our work on Facebook: facebook.com/TheIgnitionLab

The word prompt for this week was LAZY. So I wrote a song about the LAZY days of summer coming to an end on the ukulele. It’s funny because, I love autumn, so this song is pretty much a lie. Lyrics below the video!

Lazy Days

Lazy days are over
Waving good-bye to summer
How will I get through the winter
I guess I will make due
By keeping warm with you

I’ll miss the beach and the sun
When you take my hand
And run across the shore
How I love you a little more

And being kissed by the sun
Jumping in the waves is so much fun
Building sand castles pretending it’s home
Wherever we may roam, oh but those

Lazy days are over
Waving good-bye to summer
How will I get through the winter
I guess I will make due
By keeping warm with you

Reading a book in the lawn
Staying up ’til dawn
Gazing at the stars up in the sky
Oh how time flies by, oh but those

Lazy days are over
Waving good-bye to summer
How will I get through the winter
I guess I will make due
By keeping warm with you
